David is one of the Elders of the church, and has the role of Pastor, for which he is paid on a part time basis. He is Scottish, but has lived in the Banbury area for around 37 years, having originally come for his work, as a veterinary surgeon. He still practises part time as a vet, alongside his work in the church, and he is also studying part time for a Masters degree in Applied Theology. He has two grown up married daughters, and a granddaughter, Emily.
When he has the opportunity, David loves sailing, skiing and hillwalking, and just generally being outside, including looking after his garden.
David will always do his best to be available for any questions you may have about the church, or more widely about faith in God, and our trust in the Lord Jesus - do get in touch through the website.
John is one of the elders at Southam Road Evangelical Church having been a member there since 1997. He, and his wife Wendy, live on a farm near Shipston on Stour where John has farmed for most of his working life. They have three adult children.
Now in the building trade John enjoys walking his cocker spaniel, looking after his ducks and hens and growing vegetables.
John much prefers meeting face to face, anything to avoid sending an email! He loves getting people together, preferably around a bonfire or BBQ.
Nic is also one of the Elders here, married to Rebecca, with our son Toby who just avoided University lockdown graduating earlier in 2020 now looking for work in Sports Journalism. They are pictured here because they forgot to tick the “no publicity” box. Nic works for a science and medical publisher supporting their finance computer systems. In his spare time he reads Doctor Who books and tries to work out the chronology of the Star Trek universe. The weekly home group is his favourite part of life at SREC – sharing in God’s word with fellow Christians, praying together, encouraging and teaching each other – that’s what it is all about.
